RND Automation Donates Fanuc Robot and
$50,000 to State College of Florida’s Coding Academy
RND Automation announced today that it will be hosting a media event on Thursday, June 29th, 2023 at 10:30am, to facilitate the donation of a Fanuc robot and a $50,000 donation to State College of Florida’s Coding Academy. The event will be held at RND Automation, located at 3155 Lakewood Ranch Blvd #110 in Lakewood Ranch, FL 34211.
The Fanuc robot is part of a machine produced by RND Automation for Certified Collectibles, a local Lakewood Ranch company, in 2017. The machine, code-named “Cracker Jack,” was no longer being used by Certified Collectibles, who approached RND Automation about what could be done with the machine. In response, RND Automation recommended donating the machine to one of our community’s secondary education institutions with a strong focus on coding and technology education. State College of Florida was selected as the recipient, as Certified Collectibles is quite familiar with SCF and their community impact.
In addition to the Fanuc robot donation, RND Automation’s membership with PMMI (The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies) provides a matching funds donation of $50,000 to SCF.
The media event will host various representatives from the community, including SCF with some of the Coding Academy students, Certified Collectibles, RND Automation, PMMI, EDC of Sarasota County, Bradenton Area EDC, and The Observer. Additionally, the event is open to additional press.
The donation of the Fanuc robot and the funds to State College of Florida’s Coding Academy are an example of the importance of investing in secondary education and furthering technology education opportunities. Everyone involved in the donation looks forward to seeing the potential impact that these donations will make.
