Nestled along the Gulf Coast, Sarasota County Schools serves over 45,000 students in 56 schools from preschool to 12th grade, representing over 60 languages. Recognized for academic excellence, SCS consistently earns an “A grade” from the Florida Department of Education and ranks 5th among Florida’s top-performing school districts. With 23 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 6 high schools, 3 combination schools, and other educational institutions, SCS is the 21st largest school district in Florida by enrollment. Multiple new schools are currently under construction, including a new K-8 school set to open in the 2025-2026 school year.

Manatee Technical College

For over 60 years, Manatee Technical College has proudly served our students by offering outstanding educational experiences leading to great careers, while providing a skilled workforce for business and industry in Manatee County and the surrounding areas.

To meet the demand for training, MTC has expanded its offerings to include over 50 career prep programs – the largest selection of programs offered in the state of Florida. Career options include programs in the areas of Health Science, Business Technology, Construction Services, Transportation, Digital Technology, Public Service, Culinary Arts, Manufacturing, and Information Technology, Many programs can be completed in a year or less and each focuses on training students for better job and providing business and industry with a skilled, professional workforce.
