DESCRIPTION
The EDC of Sarasota County is a non-profit organization in existence since 2004. We are a public-private partnership comprised of dedicated business and government leaders working together to grow a more diverse and resilient Sarasota County economy. The EDC is the designated economic development partner for Sarasota County, the Cities of North Port, Venice, and Sarasota and the Town of Longboat Key. The organization works to help companies expand and establish Sarasota County to create new, well-paying jobs; contribute to the local tax base; and reduce vulnerability to external shocks that can undermine our community’s long-term economic health.
SERVICES/PROGRAMS
The Economic Development Corporation acts as a concierge to assists new and existing businesses by providing confidential project management, rapid permitting, building/site review, market research, connections to workforce assistance, and more. We are focused solely on growing and diversifying Sarasota County’s economy. We support companies in establishing, expanding, thriving, creating jobs, strengthening the economy, and reducing vulnerability to external shocks. By targeting businesses that align with the local community and fostering strategic partnerships, we maximizes public return on investment. Our goal is to save you time, cost and uncertainty. The EDC is available to assist companies of all sizes and scope, and all services are free of charge.
