Sarasota County Schools is committed to providing unrivaled academic, emotional, and civic growth to every student. As one of the leading local employers, Sarasota County Schools boasts 55 schools that expertly cater to the diverse needs of all our students. We are one of two Florida school districts to consistently earn an A-grade every year since 2004. Working as one, we actively maintain the district’s tradition of excellence and ensure that tradition extends to all students. Our commitment to our students extends beyond graduation to make sure they not only graduate on time, but do so college and career ready.

We support all children in pursuit of their academic, athletic, and artistic endeavors and work hard to ensure our students graduate on time, are college and career ready, and are prepared for success in a global society. Sarasota County Schools’ student program highlights include, but are not limited to:
• Magnet full- time gifted programs at several sites, including gifted resource programs for eligible students in all schools.
• A magnet school dedicated for gifted children in second through twelfth grade.
• School choice and magnet programs at our traditional public middle and high schools, including: International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), Advanced Placement (AP), Visual and Performing Arts (VPA), STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) academies, a Young Marines program, a Law Academy, a MaST Research Institute (Math, Science, and Technology), and SSTRIDE (Science Students Together Reaching Instructional Diversity & Excellence), among others.
• A separate day-school for eligible students with special needs.
• Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways with multicourse sequences that integrate core academics with valuable, relevant technical skills for the postsecondary lives of students.
