Transportation
When busy executives look to Sarasota County as a potential relocation site, transportation is at the top of the list for consideration. Home of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) and just a short drive to both Tampa International and Southwest Florida International Airports, travel opportunities are convenient and access to virtually every domestic and international carrier is plentiful.
The region is also home to the closest deep water port to Panama, and many distribution centers have settled in the county relying on close proximity to Interstate 75 and Florida’s turnpike for efficient transport of goods.
For commuters, the Bureau of the Census has estimated the average drive time for Sarasota workers at 20 minutes compared to 26 minutes nation-wide (and no one has to shovel snow to get to their car in the morning.)
